Abe Vélez graduated from Wesleyan University (Middletown, Connecticut), where he studied ethnomusicology and obtained his B.A. in Music. His post-graduate studies at NYU included music publishing and theory & practice of soundtracks. His licensing management credits include the Atmosphere/New Line feature Full of It ($800K+ budget), and music supervision credits include The Breakup Artist and A Jihad for Love, along with a wide variety of other licensing/clearance work. Abe also spent 5+ years as a Project Manager in the Creative Services division of Sony BMG Music Entertainment.
 
He leads the “Latin-Jewish urban music collective” Hip Hop Hoodíos, whose songs have been licensed by Volkswagen and New Line Cinema, and videos have appeared on MTV and Mun2. Abe is the head of operations for Palm Pictures and has previously served as Editor at Barnes & Noble.com’s music store and as a music content developer at Muze, Inc.
